Sunflower Cupcakes

These Sunflower cupcakes are also from the Hello, Cupcake! book. They were a tad more complicated to make than the Play Pool! ones, but still easier than they look.

I used vanilla cupcakes with whipped vanilla frosting which was tinted in green and yellow. The center of the flowers were Oreo cookies and the ladybugs were red M&Ms.

I made these for a friend's birthday and will definitely make them again. The only thing I will change is next time I will cut the top of the cupcake to make it flat so that the petals of the flower can go around the center (oreo) rather than drop down from it.

  2. I have that book, and these are the only ones I've ever tried to do. Yours are gorgeous! My flower petals were very drippy. :)

  3. Cute. Instead of cutting the tops off you can put less batter in the liner when you fill them, that way you will get more cupcakes out of them. That's what I usually do when I bake cupcakes.
