The minute I saw
this cake, I knew I had to make it for Father's Day. At the time I thought that with two fondant classes completed I would be ready to tackle something of that magnitude. I was wrong. Welcome to "bubbly-bumpy fondant city"!

In our first two clases we have only worked with fondant to make bows and flowers. I learned this morning that covering a cake with fondant is not as easy as it seems. Furthermore, I decided to make my own fondant and while it tasted fantastic, it was definitely a tad harder to work with than the
store bought variety. But let me focus on the positives.

My 2 year old
thoroughly enjoyed rolling out the fondant and my four year old had a blast making and placing the polka dots. Papa was very surprised and LOVED it! I used Devil's food cake,
butter cream frosting and homemade
marshmallow fondant. It might have not looked perfect, but it tasted GREAT!

Thanks for your visit! I hope all the Dad's out there had a fantastic day.
