Frugalicious Utensil Crock

I have been eyeing a crock from Crate & Barrel for a while, but I just couldn't justify buying it for $36. However, every time I opened the drawers in my kitchen I realized how badly I needed something to hold my bigger utensils. I finally found the answer this past weekend while shopping at a discount retailer. I found a coffee container in the clearance section that was reduced to $1.49 because it was missing a cover. I loved the design and the fact that it matched my kitchen & connecting family room so well!!! We have now been using it for three days and not only is the love still strong, but I also saved over $30!!! In this case waiting certainly paid off! I know love opening the drawers... check out the before and after:

While organizing the drawers I realized that I have a lot of cookie cutters. The light bulb went off and I quickly ran out to the garage and grabbed the empty animal cracker container from the recycling bin. I washed it with soapy water and it is now our cookie cutter holder. I like this better because the kids will be able to pick easily when we bake cookies. And it was free- yipee!

I can't believe you bought that coffee container for $1.49! What a deal! The utensils look great in it and I like that it's not a typical caddy. And you gotta love a find from the recycling bin--doesn't get any better than that!

Nice thrifty find and awesome FREEBIE! I've started saving all cans and interesting bottles instead of putting them in the recycling bin. They are great for repurposing! Thanks for linking up to Shop The House Sunday!
